ServiceCentral Acquires BirdDog Systems

ServiceCentral has obtained BirdDog and its entire product offering which includes remote monitoring and support tools for networks and computers. ServiceCentral plans to incorporate these tools to enhance its suite of Service Management software and hosted solution services. 

September 9, 2008 — Today ServiceCentral Technologies, Inc. announces the acquisition of BirdDog Systems, Inc.  Birddog’s product suite includes remote monitoring software used to proactively maintain and support networks, hosted environments, applications and computers.

“The acquisition of BirdDog provides ServiceCentral another product offering in our suite of service management solutions, and further gives us flexibility in providing network managed services and monitoring to our hosted clients,” said Steve Teel, president of ServiceCentral.

Additionally, the acquisition will enable ServiceCentral to incorporate the remote monitoring features of BirdDog into its product roadmap, enabling complete automated service management tools with integrated support for customer’s connected devices.

A private company founded in 2001, BirdDog Systems has provided hosted and non-hosted monitoring solutions to a number of small to mid-size clients. ServiceCentral was a client of BirdDog Systems for several years prior to the purchase and will continue to utilize and expand on the BirdDog systems monitoring feature set.
